Holiday Decorations

While looking at decorations in front of someone's house Alex said: "They have Frosty the Snowman, and candy canes, and Halloween berries (holly berries)." 12-23-08

Street Signs

While looking at a stop sign Alex said, "They should have a go sign. And a slow down sign." 12-22-08

Restaurant Choice

"I like Noodles... and Chevy's... and Backout." Alex 12-12-08

Doctor's Visit

Dr. Rice: You are getting big too.
Alex: I like to snuggle.
(Informative if not a little off topic.) 12-12-08

Directions

A few minutes after I told Alex the directions to Chevy's (two lefts and then two rights) he said "Mom, you can't have two lefts and two rights. That's a waste of road. Only one left and one right. 10-8-08

College Plans

Mom: What college do you want to go to?
Alex (laughing): It's not time go to college.
Mom: Right, right. When it is time to go to college where do you want to go?
Alex: William Mary
(Hmmm, I think a long time ago I may have mentioned William and Mary as the college where John Stewart went. The things he remembers and then brings up. Amazing.) 12-8-08

Wheels or Not?

After a truly thrilling story that I made up about an elf who runs out of wheels to put on cars, Alex suggested that they make boats. I said "what about airplanes or helicopters?" He responded, "airplanes have wheels, helicopters have skis." 12-1-08

Thanksgiving Drive

In the car driving to Thanksgiving after Mom hissed at Dad's driving.
Alex: Mom, why you make that noise?
Mom: I'm a little nervous.
Alex: You not be nervous. You be happy. It's happy holidays.

Haircut

After getting a haircut the barber told Alex, "You are handsome, Alex." Alex responded, "I not handsome I'm just Alex." 11-17-08

Picture Time

While taking pictures of the two kids I said "Lindsay, give Alex a kiss." Alex replied "I'm giving my own kiss" while kissing his hands. Always the little sister, Lindsay then kissed her hands. 11-15-08

Autumn Lesson

While driving in the car Alex gave a short lesson in leaves:
Some green leaves fall off on ground. Some have trouble getting colors. 11-12-08

Wishy-Washy

This morning Lindsay was sitting on Alex's bed "reading" books. When she opened Mrs. Wishy-Washy she said "shee-shee" while scrubbing her tummy (when I read it to her I say wishy-washy and rub her tummy). 11-10-08

Talking during Play

Just yesterday Alex started having characters that he is playing with converse with each other. He was introducing the different train cars to each other and then when the train went in the tunnel the backhoe said "Bye, I love you." Today he is playing with his little people and they keep saying "Ahhhh" because the dragon is nearby. (11-10-08)

Drum Playing

While playing the drum:
This drum is really big and the sound is low. It is really loud, fortissimo.
(I think I might learn some music terms thanks to Little Einsteins.)
