While driving on our favorite section of 95 with tons of construction equipment:
Alex: I am incredible at construction equipment.
Me: Did you say "You are incredible at construction equipment"?
Alex: Yes, I am incredible...you are incredible is when you see something you haven't seen before.

Paddle Fun

A month ago we went canoeing. Back on land Alex was paddling in a circle from the edge and said "I'm paddling the world around."

Box Please

About 2 months ago we were eating dinner at Outback. Lindsay looked at Alex's empty plate and then back at her plate full of food and said "A box. I need a box please." She repeated this for about 7 minutes until the server brought her a box.

Xylophone

After laying rectangular blocks next to each other Lindsay said "I made a xylophone" 8-14-09

Alex: Let's not go to P.F. Changs.
Me: What's wrong with P.F. Changs?
Alex: It's too delicious.

Alex: Mom did you see the new fan?
Me: Yes, do you like it?
Alex: No.
Me: Why not?
Alex: It is too delicious.

(He often says that things are too delicious when he doesn't want to do them. It doesn't always have to be about food either.)

Pool Sleepsack

While playing in the baby pool, Lindsay wrapped a pool noodle around her waist and declared, "a sleepsack." 5-31-09

Strawberries

When Lindsay has a scrape or cut on her hands she calls it strawberries because it reminds her of strawberry pieces left on her hand.

Armadillo Truck

Alex: I saw an armadillo truck.
Me: What is an armadillo truck?
Alex: Oh, it is red.
Me: (Remembering the red truck I just saw) Oh you mean an armored truck.

Joke Time

Lindsay:Knock, Knock

Lindsay: Orge (Orange). I did it.

Lindsay has been working on this joke for a few weeks. It used to just continue with knock, knock then banana. Alex has tried teaching her the Orange you glad I didn't say banana punch line. This is why she thinks she did it when she said orange.

Milk Tanker

While sitting on dad's lap or hugging or some variation, Alex often says "We are a milk tanker." (We ask but he cannot explain what this means.)

Belly Button

Alex:I have a good button.
Me: What? (Then I look over and see him playing with his belly button.)

Birthday Plans

"When I'm four I'm going to have another cupcake. When I'm five I'm going to have a real cake. When I'm seven I'm going to have a circle cake. When I'm twenty I'm going to have a triangle cake." Alex 1-11-09 (He said all these exact same things about a month ago. It seems like his plans are pretty secure.)
